Former Wales Rugby Captain Gareth Thomas Said He’s Living With HIV

Former Wales and British and Irish Lions rugby captain Gareth Thomas has revealed to the BBC that he is currently living with HIV virus.

Gareth Thomas In a documentary that is to be broadcast on Wednesday narrated how he felt like dying in 2018. The 45-year-old rugby star declared he is gay in 2009.

“When I first found out that I was going to have to live with HIV, the first thing I thought was straight away: I was going to die. It’s not like I blame people for not knowing this. said Gareth Thomas.

“This is a subject that because of the 1980s scenarios people don’t talk about it because that’s the only information they have.”

The HIV virus infected Thomas says his health status has little or no impact on his daily life following the advancement in medicine that controls the virus other than taking a single pill daily and visiting the hospital for blood tests every six months.

Gareth Thomas made his Test debut for Wales in 1995 and later proceeded to win 100 caps as well as three for the Lions in 2005.
