Progressive report from the live rugby World Cup battle between Australia and Uruguay as Kuridrani shines.
Australia are starting to hit their straps now as double try scorer Tevita Kuridrani makes the break. Folau Fainga’a knocks on but there has definitely been an improvement after the break.
51 – minutes. Kuridrani is powerful and he’s just starting to take a real grip on this game. He’s saying ‘give me the ball, I’m going to take control of this game’. This is where Australia need him over the next few weeks as bigger tests and bigger obstacles come in their way.
The game isn’t getting any easier for Uruguay. The Wallabies make a double change as Will Genia and David Pocock come on for Nic White and Michael Hooper.
53 – minutes. He’s only been on for two minutes! Jack Dempsey twists, turns and powers his way through a couple of tackles before popping the ball off to Will Genia for a simple run-in. Christian Lealiifano kicks the conversion and this could end up as a cricket score now.
Australia really starting to pull away now as they dominate 33 – 3. All about the power of Jack Dempsey there, beats two, three defenders just by pure power and hard running.
It’s a shame, you don’t want to see Uruguay tire this early but Australia have had the ball all of this second half and you just can’t be on the back foot that long without something giving.
Wallaby veteran Adam Ashley-Cooper shows there is still plenty of life in those legs yet as he beats two Uruguayan defenders.
He gets the ball away to Kurtley Beale but the full-back is put into touch by a covering tackle.
That could have been try number six.
