Australia’s ‘Baggy Greens’ Beat Pakistan To Clench T20 Cricket Series

Australia’s ‘Baggy Greens’ today beat Pakistan by a whopping 10 wickets to clench the Perth T20 cricket series after a very poor performance by the visitors.

Australia won the toss and sent the Pakistan team to bat first. Pakistan put on a dismal performance though out their game by losing unnecessary wickets. It was a very slow start for the Pakistan team who had only scored 15/1 at 2.2 overs which was when Pakistan skipper Babar was sent off with a lbw off a ball from Mitchell Starc. Straight afterwards, Starc hit another blow to the Pakistan team by bowling out Mohammad Rizwan with a 140.2 kph delivery right into the stumps of the Pakistani batsman leaving the team with a poultry 15/2 at 2.3 overs.

Imam-ul-Haq was the next batsman to fall prey to the Aussie’s as a delivery from Sean Abbott clipped his bat and sent the ball flying right into the every ready hands of Ben McDermott,  who was eagerly awaiting at square leg. Haris Sohail was then excused for a mere 8 off 16 balls when a delivery from Ashton Agar had him caught out by Kane Richardson leaving Pakistan at 54/4 after 9.1 overs.

Pakistan’s bad luck continued to worsen as Khushdil Shah was caught out by Mitchell Starc setting the visitors at a meager 69/5 after 12.1 overs. With half the team already out, it is not a stretch to say things were looking extremely bad for the Pakistan side who  went on to drop 2 more wickets before ending their innings with a mere 106/8.

Australia, still hot off their amazing fielding performance stepped in to bat led by David Warner and Aaron Finch. Pakistan missed a golden opportunity to redeem themselves when Imam-ul-Haq missed the stumps allowing David Warner a potential run out.

The Australian batsmen’s partnership was able to achieve bring the side 51/0 after only 5.4 overs. Already the signs that Pakistan were in trouble were clear to everyone. Aaron Finch was able to complete a half century before just before the undefeated partnership over-took the visitors score allowing the Aussies to walk away with a 10 wicket victory over Pakistan clenching the series.

Well done Aussie’s…. As for Pakistan, i think its time to go back home until you can figure out where it all went wrong, but we hope to see you return stronger as you learn from your mistakes.
