Day one of the two day practice test match saw England coming out 285-3 with batsmen Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley putting on a splendid display of cricket, both posting centuries before retiring against New Zealand.

The game was initially delayed by 3 hours due to rain. Sibley reached 100 of 161 balls and Crawley achieved 103 off 137 balls before both retiring. Skipper Joe Root added a further 41 runs along with Ollie Pope who posted 9 on the board, both ending the first inning unbeaten.
England’s only fallen wicket came from Rory Burns who fell fell to Henry Shipley for 23.The England side can now only hope that their performance will be enough to see them walk away with a win at the end of the 2 day practice test match which will be resuming tonight at 22:00GMT.
