WWE fans are going wild after the announcement last night that CM Punk has returned and will be featuring on WWE Backstage after he walked away 5 years ago. The former WWE will however not be returning as a WWE wrestler, but instead as a WWE Backstage contributor contracted to Fox as the show airs on their Fox Sport 1 (FS1) channel.

CM Punk left the WWE universe the day after 2014’s Royal Rumble after accusing WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann of malpractice. Although CM Punk claimed that he was leaving the world of wrestling, it seems he could never really get rid of the wrestling bug as he has already fought twice for in the UFC as well as become a commentator for Cage Fury Fighting Championships.
When asked whether he would consider returning to the WWE universe once again as a wrestler, he said he would only consider it if offered a steep sum of money. Well depending on how the fans talk to him on Backstage, WWE might be willing to meet his demands.
