Fate has decided to add one final twist to the Joe Gomez and Raheem Sterling drama that we have been witness to this past week as the pair switch places on the sideline . As Sterling makes a comeback appearance for the Three Lion Squad having been dropped by England coach Gareth Southgate, after an altercation with teammate Joe Gomez, the later will now be the one watching from the side lines as his team continues on their Euro campaign.

Gomez suffered an injury during the England squad training session after a challenge from team mate Kieran Trippier. Although the injury has been described as not being serious, he has been ruled out of England’s game on Sunday against Kosovo.
This announcement ironically comes just when team Southgate announced that Sterling will be featuring in the Sunday’s Euro qualifier. Teammate Jordan Henderson will also be missing the game due to a viral infection that has not fully cleared.

“Henderson arrived in camp with a viral infection that has not fully cleared. Meanwhile, his Liverpool team-mate Gomez sustained a knock in training on Friday and has not recovered sufficiently enough to travel.” was the official statement made by England.
The injury further adds to what can only have been a stressful week for Gomez who after the altercation with Sterling, was later ‘booed’ by England supporters during the Thursday night Euro Final Qualifier match against Montenegro. England has been divided over Southgate’s decision to drop Sterling from the Thursday night match and the crowd were not afraid to express their sentiments regarding the decision.
We just hope the team dynamics will return to normal as England progress forward in their campaign.
