Stefanos Tsitsipas Becomes ATP Finals Youngest Champion in 18 years after an amazing win against Dominic Thiem after Sundays finals match. Stefanos came back after losing the first set 6-7, going on to win the remaining sets 6-2 and 7-6.

The 21 year old Greek put on a splendid display throughout the 2hr 35min game. In true sportsman like fashion, the two players embraced after the final ball as Thiem congratulated his opponent and off-the-court friend on a his victory.

Stefanos becomes the the youngest ATP Final champion since Australian Lleyton Hewitt who won in 2001 and walks away with  a purse of over £2 million.

In his post match interview, a visibly overwhelmed Stefanos said:

“It’s been a rollercoaster. Holding this trophy is amazing,” .

“I did get nervous at some points in the match but I managed to forget about how I felt and I had momentum in the tie-break, which was really tight.

“My fighting spirit and me constantly trying to push myself to do better got me there in the end.” he went on to add.

Stefanos was coming right off the heel of an amazing victory over Roger Federer just the day before on Saturday bringing an end to the latter’s ATP Finals campaign.

He now becomes the tournament’s 6th youngest tournament winner and the 7th player to win the ATP championship on his maiden appearance in the tournament.

After such an amazing achievement at such a young age, all eyes are now on the young champion as we see what the future has in store for this great up and coming star.
