Italy Lay Waste To Armenia With A 9-1 Euro Thrashing

Euro 2020 drama continues with Italy adding its very own chapter to the fold after seven of their players decided to lay waste to the Armenia side as the team continues to show why they hold top position in Group J of the Euro 2020 Qualifiers with their biggest win since 1948 when they beat the United States 9-0

He has led them on an unbeaten run through the Euro qualifiers winning an impressive 10 games out of 10 appearances. A major improvement for the team that he took over the national team after they failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

The former Italian player turned manager has been nothing but impressive as craft of his managerial skills has transformed the national team into one of the dominating forces of Euro 2020 Championships, making them redoubtably a force to be reckoned with.

The onslaught began in the 8th minute of play with Italian forward Ciro Immobile landing Italy’s first goal of the match with a marvelous header right into the Armenian goal. Just a minute later Nicolò Zaniolo decided to follow suit with a goal of his own bringing the score line to 2-0 within the first 10 minutes with his ball going through the Armenian keepers legs to find the back of the net.

Italian midfielder Nicolò Barella came through to score Italy’s third goal of the night with a lovely flick from the edge of the penalty box that found its way around Armenian goalkeeper Aram Ayrapetyan in the 29th minute of play.

Ciro Immobile then landed his second goal of the night as he danced right around the goalkeeper leaving him bewildered at the edge of the penalty box, only to be welcomed by Armenia’s empty goals which he warmly embraced with a lovely tap of his left foot sending Italy into the half time break with a 4-0 lead against their opponents.

Nicolò Zaniolo decided to follow in his team mates steps once again with the first goal of the second half in the  64th minute of play. Italian defender Alessio Romagnoli was not to be left out on the Italian score sheet putting away a goal from as the ball rebounded off the Armenian goalkeeper in the 72nd minute of play. Three minutes later, a succesful penalty conversion from Jorginho brought the Italian tally to 7-0.

Riccardo Orsolini nailed a cracking header right into the Armenian goals just two minutes after the penalty.

At this point there really wasn’t much for the Armenian team to do except save themselves from total disgrace as they managed to salvage some minute sense of honor as they denied Italy a clean sheet as Armenian midfielder Edgar Babayan managed to score Armenia’s only goal of the match bringing the scoreline to 8-1.

Italian forward Federico Chiesa nailed the final nail into the Armenian coffin with the last goal of the match during the 81st minute with a header into the bottom corner of the Armenian goal ending the match at a whopping 9-1 to Italy.

Talk about goals raining from the heavens!!! All eyes will be on Italy as they enter the next round of the Euro.
