Messi decided to mark his landmark 700th appearance for Barcelona by scoring 4 minutes sending both side into the half time break with Barcelona leading 2-0 against Dortmund.

Messi continued his spectacular performance well into the second half by by setting up team mate Antoine Griezmann to score Barcelona’s third goal of the night.

Jadon Sancho managed to put Borussia Dortmund on the score board with a goal in the 77th minute. The game ended 3-1 in favor of Barcelona who have now secured their spot in the final 16 knock out round of the Champions League.

Luis Suarez’s goal in this match means that he has scored in all three of Barcelona’s Championship League home game as he continues to chase his previous 2015-16 streak of six matches.

Lionel Messi’s goal now brings his all time Champions League tally to 114 goals.

Dortmund are now placed at third position in Group F just behind Inter Milan who are only beating them by a 3 point goal difference.
