Ole Changes Man Utd XI And Records First Euro Loss

In what ended up being the first loss for Man Utd in the Euro league this season, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to rest his  senior players and instead fielded a team of Manchester’s  up and comings.

Whether this was really about resting his first XI for future games as Manchester had already qualified for the next round of the Euro’s or just a means of covering himself in case his side lost, Ole’s strategy may have just bought him another lifeline at the club in the midst of the trending #OleOut campaign.

Ole decided to field the youngest team to ever play in European competition made up of the clubs up and coming. He claims to have wanted to give the youths an opportunity to experience what it is like to play with the big boys. Whatever the reasons this move just bought Ole another day at the club despite their 2-1 lose to Astana as supporter continue to push for him to be axed.

Manchester United skipper for the night Jesse Lingard helped put his team in the lead scoring the only goal of the first half in the 10th minute of play. United put on a decent effort for the rest of the first half going into the half time break with 0-1 lead

The United side’s inexperience began to show in the second half When Luke Shaw handed Tahith Chong the ball placing him right in front of an empty goal where he somehow failed to score.

This mistake seemed to rile up Astana who punished the failed opportunity by conceding their first goal of the match just seven minutes after Chong’s wasted opportunity. Manchester’s youth team decided to usher in their own demise as an  own goal from Manchester’s Di’Shon Bernard put the home side in the lead.

Ole came out praising the efforts of his young squad in the aftermath of their defeat trying to focus on the positive aspects of the match in a bid to over-shadow the very obvious fact that he failed…AGAIN!!

Astana were able to win their first game of the tournament whilst ending Manchester’s 15 game no loss streak in Europa matches.
