Liverpool’s Salah To Miss Egypt AFCON Qualifier Matches

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who sustained a another ankle injury, will miss the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifier matches for Egypt. Salah reported for duty at the Egypt camp straight after his match on Sunday. After a check from the medical team, they decided that due to injury on his ankle, he would not be able to participate in the next two upcoming games against Kenya Comoros.

The Liverpool forward sustained an injury on Sunday during Liverpool’s match with Manchester City where they won 3-1. This is the second injury the forward has sustained to the same raising further speculation on how long it will take him to recover as well as the long lasting damage of the injury.

Speculation on the severity of the injury was further heightened by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who stated:-

“I think it is more really annoying – for him, not me – the fact that it always has a bit of fluid in, and he has to deal with it, we get it out and it comes back”

The first injury was a result of a tackle from Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury. This left him unable to participate in October’s match against Manchester United.

We wish the Liverpool forward a speedy recovery over the International break and hope to see him return in full form once he has ended his National duties and reports back to Anfield.
