He now joins Kobe Bryant and Lebron James as the third Laker to have a 50-point game this decade.

LeBron James also featured on the night as he posted 32 points, 13 assists 4 rebounds and a steal.

The duo of Davis and James combined together for 82 making them the first Lakers teammates to achieve back to back 70+ since Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in 2003.

This is not only Davis’ 4th 50 point game in his career but he also becomes the third-fastest player to reach this landmark in Franchise history having done so in just only 23 games.

Davis achieved his 50 point mile marker without any 3 point shots.

When Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was asked about Davis’ record achievement that game, he went on to say:

“An old-school, smash-mouth way of getting 50, no threes,”

“It’s been fun,”

“When you have two players who are very selfless and want the best for the other player, it’s very easy. I’m looking for him, he’s looking for me, and we continue to learn each other and where we like to score the basketball.”
