Arsenal End Historic Winless Streak With 1-3 Win Over West Ham

Arsenal has managed to end their winless streak as they emerged victorious in their game against West Ham beating the home side 1-3.

Arsenal began their first half in a dismal state as they show the lack of confidence that had contributed to their 9 games winless streak.

West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna scored the first goal of the game in the 38th minute of the game. As Arsenal left the pitch for the halftime break amidst the sound of booing from their traveling supporters, it looked like they were headed for another winless game.

When the second half began it seemed that Arsenal had reemerged with a new spark of life as they began to gain their footing.

First came a goal from 18 year old Gabriel Martinelli who scored the equalising goal for Arsenal in the 60th minute.

Just a few minutes afterwards Nicolas Pepe came through to put the Gunners in the lead as he scored their second goal 6 minutes later sending the ball into the top corner of the goal.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came through to clinch the win for Arsenal as he scored their third goal of the night in the 69th minute of play.

This brilliant 10  minutes of football from the Arsenal side allowed the visitors to end the game with a 1-3 win over home side West Ham, finally putting an end to their accursed winless streak.

This marked the first win for interim manager Freddie Ljungberg as the team climbed up to 9th position on  the Premiership table with 22 points

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini acknowledged Arsenal’s dominance in the game as he went on to say :

“For 60 minutes there was just one team on the pitch. But football can be like this.”.
