3 Goals, 3 Red Cards In Rangers 0-3 Win Over Hibernian

The Rangers close the gap on Celtics with a 0-3 win over Hibernian. Manager Steven Gerrard side had quite an interesting on their chase of current  Scottish Premiership League leaders, Celtics.

How It Went Down

The Rangers got off to a very early lead with Ryan Kent scoring the opening goal of the match for the visitors just 4 minutes into the game.

Teammate Joe Aribo decided to follow in stride scoring the sides 2nd goal four minutes later.  This gave Rangers 0-2 lead before the 10-minute mark.

Rangers continued to dominate the game with their early goals having frustrated their hosts. The second half saw Jermain Defoe scoring Rangers 3rd and final goal of the night in the 53rd minute of play.

The game’s action was however very far from over as a dangerous lunge by Hibernian’s Ryan Porteous on Borna Barisic was the catalyst that sparked the craziest few minutes of the game.

Red Card Fiasco

The drama started with the Rangers bench protesting in disgust of the dangerous tackle on their player with Hirbernian’s Porteous being sent off with a red card for the challenge.

At the same time as this was going on the pitch, Rangers Technical side was right out of the dugout to confront their Hibernian colleagues.

Police, security and officials managed to keep the heated confrontation from escalating to blows.

Hibernian assistant Head Coach John Porter was the first casualty of the confrontation receiving a red card and being ejected from the stadium.

Referee Nick Walsh then went over to the rangers technical side also issued Rangers Technical Coach Tom Culshawwith a red card.

As Borna Barisic lay on the ground home side spectators began flinging missiles at him including a glass bottle, all of which luckily narrowly missed the injured player.
