Since then Xhaka has found himself on the bench, only being brought back by interim manager Freddie Ljungberg and managed to play his first full 90 minutes under new Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Even with the new Arsenal boss giving Xhaka a second chance to prove himself on the pitch, Xhaka’s mind seem made up on the transfer as his agent  José Noguera  went on to say:

“Look, I say it frankly and honestly: we agree with Hertha BSC and would like to go to Berlin. We told Arsenal’s club boss Raul Sanllehi and sports director Edu – as well as the new trainer Mikel Arteta. ”

“Arsenal was informed about all the steps, the player and Hertha are clear. It is only about the transfer fee of the clubs.”

AS part of the terms, Hertha has already made an offer of £21.3 million however Arsenal are looking to recoup back as much of the  £35 million that they paid Borussia Monchengladbach for Xhaka in 2016.

Although Xhaka seems set to make the move to Germany during the January transfer window, Mikel Arteta is hoping to postpone the transfer until the end of the coming season.
