England’s woes continue to worsen on the third day of their test cricket match against South Africa as the Proteas extend their lead by 300.

At first, it looked like England would have no problem catching the 284-8 target set for them by the hosts as they at one point found themselves on 142-3.

Then suddenly things just went south for the visitors who somehow found themselves 181 all out by the end of their inning.

The best fight England was able to put up in their first innings came from Joe Denly who managed half a century.

The closest any of his teammates were able to come to that was 35 runs from Ben Stokes.

As day three of the test progresses, South Africa currently find themselves on 226-8 after 54 overs. This has pushed their lead over the tourists to over 300.

At first, it looked like England would be able to reduce the home sides lead as they claimed an early wicket, taking Aiden Markam out for 2 runs after only 5 balls.

South Africa began to find their footing with Rassie van der Dussen reaching a half-century scoring 51 before going out for an lbw to England’s Jofra Archer.

England are leaving themselves with a monumental task if they have any hopes in winning the first in their four cricket tests against the Proteas.
