West Ham Sack Manuel Pellegrini And Bring Back David Moyes

David Moyes now joins the club on an 18-month contract and his first job will be saving the side from relegation.

West Ham has decided to sack Manuel Pellegrini and replace him with former manager David Moyes as the team finds itself fighting off potential relegation.

Pellegrini was sacked after West Ham lost to Leicester over the weekend as the club now finds itself just 1 point above relegation.

On Saturday Pellegrini suffered his 9th loss in 12 games forcing the West Ham board to look elsewhere to solve the club’s on-going problems.

West Ham joint-chairman David Sullivan came out with the following statement:

“It is with great disappointment that we’ve had to make this decision,”

David Moyes now joins the club on an 18-month contract and his first job will be saving the side from relegation.

Moyes previously served as West Ham’s club manager from 7 November 2017 – 13 May 2018 when he was sacked after winning 9 of his 31 games during his tenure.

Moyes expressed his joy at returning to London Stadium went on to say:

“I’ve missed being here because I really enjoyed it and I feel like I’ve got unfinished business, so I can’t wait to get started.”

“I’m feeling very proud that I’m back here at West Ham, but more importantly I’ll be looking to see what I can do, what I can make improvements to and how we can get some wins with the players,”

With 15 years of Premier League experience, the Hammers will be looking at  Moyes to save them once again from relegation.

West Ham fans have however not rolled out the red carpet for new manager Moyes with most feeling that the snap choice decision that led to his return is just another echo of the failing leadership of the club’s hierarchy under the ownership of Sullivan and Gold.
