Oliver Kahn was appointed to Bundesliga side FC Bayern München AG Executive Board and will take over as CEO from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 2022 when the latter’s current contract expires
The former Bayern Munich goalkeeper spent 14 years of his football career as a goalkeeper for Bayern Munich.

He will be taking over as CEO from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge who’s contract expires 31 December 2021. Until then he will be shadowing Rummenigge and sporting direct Hasan Salihamidzic as he prepares for the position.
The 50-year-old Olver Kahn retired from professional football in 2008 and went on to acquire an MBA in General Management. He went on to successfully start his own company called Goalplay.
The former Bayern Munich Captain whos temper is quite well known in the footballing community came out saying there would be “no slide tackles in the meeting room” as he joked about his reputation on the pitch.

While accepting his new role on the Bayern Munich board he went on to say:
“A great Bayern coach once said that if you sign a contract here, you have to know what you are letting yourself in for,”
“At Bayern, it is about being the number one in every area. We want to give the fans excellent football, and for that we need to create the economic conditions.”
Kahn, who’s massive list of achievements includes a Champions League Title, UEFA Cup, 8 Bundesliga Titles and the record, Best player and Goalkeeper at the 2002 World Cup as well as holding the record for the highest clean sheets in the Bundesliga with 197 in 557 games.

FC Bayern München AGPresident Herbert Hainer echoed this sentiment when he went on to say that they hired Oliver Kahn for his “football expertise, business expertise and Bayern DNA”.
