Williams who currently has 23 grand slam titles to her name is looking to equal Margeret Courts’Â record of 24 grand slams should she win the Australian Open.

She already lost to Coco Gauff last summer during their encounter at Wimbledon where the 15-year-old American knocked her out in the first round of the Tournament.
Coco Guaff is currently ranked no.66 in the world with Venus Williams ranked at no.53.
2019 Australian Open champion Naomi Osaka will be facing Marie Bouzkova as she tries to defend her second Grand Slam title.
World number 1 and French Open champion Ash Barty will face against Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko. Tunisian Ons Jabeur faces off with current British no1 Jo Konta.
The final pick for the women’s draw will see Elina Svitolina against Katie Boulter who is just coming off a six-month lay-out.

The athletes will not only have to compete with each other but will have to overcome the heavily polluted air caused by the bushfires that are ravishing through Australia at the moment. The tournament runs from 20 January to 2 February 2020.
