The Boston Celtics celebrated Martin Luther King Jr Day at TD Gardens with a well-deserved 139-107 win over the LA Lakers who didn’t seem to put up a fight.
Boston Celtics dominated the match, outplaying the LA Lakers in all four quarters of the game. Celtics managed to shut down all the big names on the Lakers roster with no one able to score more than 20 points on the night.
Anthony Davis made his comeback for the Lakers after missing the last 5 matches for the Lakers. Unfortunately, he was not able to live up to the high expectations of his return to the court as he only managed to score 9 points with 4 rebounds and 2 assists.
JaVale McGee led the Lakers scoresheet with 18 points and 5 assists. He was followed by LeBron James who managed a double-double with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists.
Lebron admitted the Lakers put up a rather shoddy performance in their 139-107 loss to the Celtics,#NBA going on to say the following in his post-game interview:
“Listen, it was just a good, old-fashioned butt-whipping, that’s all,”
“They beat us in all facets of the game,”
The Celtics came out hard and strong with 3 of their player reaching 20 points in the game at TD Gardens as they celebrated Martin Luther King Jr Day.
Jayson Tatum led the score sheet with 27 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Kember Walker managed 20 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists followed very closely by Jaylen Brown who managed 20 points 4 rebounds and 6 assists.
The LA Lakers are still top of the Western Conference going 34-9 but this has been their second-worst defeat to the Celtics.
Celtics are at 4th position on the Eastern Conference with 28-14.
