Bafana Bafana star Bongani Zungu from South Africa is close to completing his move from Amiens to La Liga side Real Mallorca. The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder will be the sixth South African player to feature in La Liga.
We will join Real Mallorca from French side Amiens, on a 6-month loan deal reportedly worth €500 000 with an option to buy the midfielder for  €5million at the end of the season.
Bongani Zungu left South African based club Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016 for the Portuguese side Vitória FC. He then made a move to French side Amiens where he made a total of 44 appearances scoring 2 goals.
Having already landed in Spain, his move to Real Mallorca will make him only the sixth South African player to feature in the Spanish La Liga since 1995.

This is not the first time Bongani Zungu has had an opportunity to venture into La Liga with Espanyol having made bids for the midfielder in 2018 that were eventually rejected by Amiens.
Real Mallorca have made it clear that before they complete the transfer of the South African midfielder, they will first have to find a replacement for him before the end of the transfer window which ends today.
