After Dakar, Fernando Alonso has already announced that after Dakar, he will be setting his sights on the famous Indianapolis 500 also known as Indy 500.

Alonso is not taking the Dakar Rally lightly as he has already acknowledged how hard his aspirations will be to achieve  as he went on to say:

“If Loeb still hasn’t won the Dakar, imagine me, who is coming from asphalt”

Sebastien Loeb a nine-time world rally champion has been unable to successfully tame the beast that is Dakar.

Alonso will be competing in this year’s 7,500 km race that will be held over a period of 12 days in Saudi Arabia.

This is the first time that the rally  will be held in Asia having been moved to South America after security issues forced the rally to be shifted from the traditional route stretching from Paris to Dakar
