Tottenham Spurs have just announced the signing of Dutch forward Steven Bergwijn from PSV on a contract until 2025. Jose Mourinho will definitely hail the signing of the 22-year-old striker as he has been desperately looking for a  replacement for Harry Kane.

With talk of Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud who also may be making a transfer to Spurs, Jose Mourinho may finally be able to boost Spurs into the Premier League top 4 which would see them through to Champions League contention.

PSV supporters are not happy to be losing the rising young star who has scored 6 goals with a further 13 assists in his 29 appearances for PSV this season for the Dutch side..

Tottenham agreed to a  transfer fee of  £27million with PSV for the striker Steven Bergwijn who could very well feature as soon as Sunday 2 February when Tottenham Spurs take on Manchester City in their next Premier  League fixture before the start of the Premier League Winter Break.

The new signing will take Christian Eriksen’s place wearing the number 23 shirt after Eriksen completed his transfer to Inter Milan yesterday.

The new Spurs signing had the following to say about his arrival at the club:

“I think it’s an amazing move, an amazing club. Whatever I can bring, I will give it for this club and for this team.

“It’s a dream for every football player to play in the Premier League. The atmosphere – the stadiums are always full.

“I want to score goals, give assists and win the Champions League. Last season, I loved to see them beat Ajax [in the Champions League semi-final].

“When I was a young boy, I looked to the coach [Jose] Mourinho, and now I play for him. To play here it’s a dream for me, it’s an honour.”
