Football’s GOAT Lionel Messi has come out defending his teammates against accusations made by Barcelona Sporting Director Eric Abidal.
Eric Abidal who was a former teammate to Lionel Messi brewed up a storm at the Barcelona camp when he criticized players when speaking to Spanish newspaper Sport when he was explaining the reasons for former Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde’s dismal.
“The relationship between the coach and dressing room was always good, but there are things that as an ex-player I can sense. I told the club what I thought and we had to make a decision.” Abidal told Sport.
His comments did not sit well with Barcelona star Lionel Messi who wasted no time at all to call out the sporting director on his Instagram, telling him to take responsibility for his own actions.
Messi hit back at Eric Abidal in on his Instagram saying:
“I honestly do not like to do this kind of thing but I think that everyone has to be responsible for their job and take responsibility for their decisions,”
“Players for what happens on the field, we are also the first to acknowledge when we don’t play well.”
The Barcelona Sporting Director seems to be getting a lot of flack of his comments which have caused so much unrest in the Barcelona locker camp that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has called him in for a meeting to discuss what he said.
