Nigerian Odion Ighalo has been left out of the Manchester United training camp in Marbella in Spain as the club worries about immigration restrictions given the Coronavirus outbreak and new policies being implemented on travelers who have been in China in the past 14 days.

Odion Ighalo was signed on loan from the Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua on deadline day.

With ongoing fears about the widespread Coronavirus from China, the UK is revising immigration policies for any travelers who have been in China in the last 14 days.

The club is worried that their new signing may not be able to reenter the country should he leave on the training camp to Spain with the rest of the team.

The club issued the following statement in regards to why the Nigerian was left behind:

“The club can also confirm that, due to the current situation in China, it has been decided that new signing Odion Ighalo will not travel to Spain as it is not guaranteed that he’d clear UK immigration on return should border restrictions tighten on travellers who’ve been in China within the past 14 days.”

Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay will also be absent at the training camp in Marbella in Spain as they have to finish their rehabilitation courses for their on-going injuries.

Although he may not be traveling with the Manchester United squad to Spain, Odion Ighalo will still receive personalized training in England.
