Manchester United fans will finally get to see new signing Odion Ighalo in action as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms that he will debut against Chelsea on Monday.
The Nigerian international who is currently on loan from Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua was unable to join his teammate on their recent training trip to Spain as the club were worried that he may have problems returning into the UK due to changing birder restrictions as a result of the Coronavirus.
With the new signing on having recently arrived from China, he would be under more scrutiny as the UK alongside many international communities now tightens their border restrictions trying to avoid the deadly virus from spreading anymore then it already has.
Although he did not travel to Marbella, Ighalo remained behind undergoing a private training session of his own to get him up to scratch with his teammates.
“Yeah, he is going to travel with us,” Ole told the press
“We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us.”
If all has gone as planned and Ighalo is match ready after his fitness assessment, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer say that the new striker will be able to make his Manchester United debut when the club takes on Chelsea on Monday 17 February when the inaugural winter break comes to an end.
With the additions of Odion Ighalo and Bruno Fernandes to the team, fans will be expecting to see manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer getting the club back in Champions League contention before the end of the season as they currently find themselves at 8th position on the Premier League log, just 6 points away from 4th placed Chelsea.
