Coronavirus fears have not only resulted in Manchester United changing hotels but also in banning Odion Ighalo from their Carrington training base.

in Benahavis as they attended their training camp in Marbella, Spain.

However, according to the DailyMail, upon the club hearing that Rafael Benitez and his Chinese Dalian Yifang F.C had stayed there the week before, they changed their accommodation plans and moved to Kempinski, in nearby Estepona.

This is not the first time that fear of the Coronavirus has forced the Manchester United side to take drastic steps to avoid any chance of infection.

The Daily Star recently reported that new signee Odion Ighalo was actually banned from the team’s Carrington training facilities. This has forced him to undergo his training at GB Taekwondo Centre in Manchester.

Oladele Salami who is Ighalo’s agent confirmed the incident as he went on to make the following statement when asked about the incident:

“I can confirm Odion has been training at the taekwondo centre and has not been to Carrington. The team are back on Saturday and he will join up with them then.”

With Ighalo being left behind to train on his own as the rest of the team went to Spain for their training camp, it would be safe to assume that the issue of immigration not letting him back in if he left the UK due to fears of the Coronavirus are not the only reason why the Nigerian international was left out of the training camp.

Given the recent revelations about the last-minute changing hotels and Ighalo’s ban from the Carrington training base, one would start to suspect that certain people at Manchester United did not want the new loanee from Shanghai Shenhua possibly infecting the players and thought the found that the story of him possibly not being allowed back into the country should he leave by immigration to be a perfect cover.
