Kenyan World Championship runner Asbel Kiprop is now looking to compete in the world of motorsports after being banned from athletics after testing positive for doping.
In a time where the athletics world is under heavy scrutiny following Russian doping allegations, Asbel Kiprop tested positive for EPO and was handed a 4-year ban as a result.
Most athletes would either hang up their boots or continue honing in on their skill outside of the competitive arena until they were able to qualify once again when the ban was over but not Asbel.
Instead of fading quietly into the night whilst banned from the athletes world, the Kenyan athlete is now crossing over to the world of motorsports as he joins the Nairobi motor-rallying academy.
The timing couldn’t have been more perfect as are welcoming back rallying to the country in the form of the Safari Rally in July this year.
“I am ready to begin again in a sport that doesn’t have doping conspiracy,” the Kenyan World Championship runner added on his Twitter.
