The much-anticipated match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has been postponed to November as Deontay Wilder refuses a multi-million-pound deal not to trigger the rematch clause in his contract.
Deontay Wilder who was knocked out in his heavyweight championship fight with Tyson Fury on February 22, has until July 18 to trigger the rematch clause in his contract.

Tyson Fury, on the other hand, was hoping to move onto his next match which would have been against Anthony Joshua for his four world titles.

Frank Warren, who is Fury’s promoter told the BBC that they had offered Wilder a multi-million-pound payoff not to trigger the clause but he refused, going gon to say:
“I prefer to go straight to Joshua but that’s the contract,”
“If he insists on the fight, we’re locked into it.”
“It has to be honoured unless we reach some accommodation for him to step aside. We could pay him to step aside if he wants to do that, but that’s his choice.”
“It would be lucrative for him, but I have spoken to his manager and Deontay does believe he has the beating of Tyson, and he can knock him out.”

Should Wilder in fact trigger the clause, then the rematch fight would take place sometime mid-July probably in Las Vegas.

In order for Fury to see out his match against Joshua which would happen anytime between November or December this year, most likely in Saudi Arabia, both fighters would have to retain their Championship titles.

This means that Anthony Joshua will have to beat Kubrat Pulev when he fights him on June 20. Should the clause be triggered it would be the third match between Wilder and Fury.
