Serie A has cancelled weekend games in the North of Italy like the Juventus vs Inter Milan match, due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus in the country.
The 5 affected Serie A games will now take place on Wednesday 13 May meaning that the Coppa Italia final which was originally meant to be played on that day will now be postponed to Wednesday 20 May.
It was first expected that this weekends games would be played behind closed doors as was the case on Thursday when Inter Milan played Ludogerets in their Europa League fixture at San Siro.
Unfortunately, due to health risks and the rate at which the Coronavirus is spreading in the country, Serie A has decided to postpone the matches until later in the year.
The 5 games that have been postponed are as follows:
Juventus vs Inter Milan
Udinese vs Fiorentina
AC Milan vs Genoa
Parma vs Spal
Sassuolo vs Brescia
Games in Southern Italy will continue as normal with supporters being allowed to attend the stadiums. These games include:
Lazio vs Bologna
Napoli vs Torino
Lecce vs Atalanta
Cagliari vs Roma
Officials are still waiting to assess whether to let Sampdoria’s game against Hellas Verona to proceed as planned on Monday.
