Things aren't getting any better for Naomi Osaka who just after losing at the Australian Open, has just been defeated by Sara Sorribes Tormo at the Fed Cup.

Things aren’t getting any better for Naomi Osaka who just after losing at the Australian Open, has just been defeated by Sara Sorribes Tormo at the Fed Cup.

Naomi Osaka was defeated in the third round of the Australian Open by up and coming tennis superstar Coco Gauff while she attempted to defend her 2019 Australian Open title.

She now experienced another shocking defeat as she lost in straight sets 6-0, 6-3  to world number 78 Sara Sorribes Tormo from Spain in the Fed Cup.

Tormo’s victory now gives Spain a 1-0 lead over Japan in the tournament.

Osaka gave up 50 unforced errors in 15 games allowing  Sara to defeat clean up the first set unchallenged in just 27 minutes. Osaka tried to put up a fight the second half but was unable to overcome the Spaniard.

The Women’s Spanish team captain Anabel Medina Garrigues was ecstatic about the win for the team, praising Tomo and saying:

“We knew that Sara had the game to make it very uncomfortable for Naomi,”

“She stuck to the game plan perfectly.”

The Fed Cup, formerly known as the Federation Cup until 1995, it the annual top International Women’s team tournament which started in 1963 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
