Orlando Pirates have confirmed that assistant coach Rulani Mokwena has moved to Chippa United where he will take over as coach until the end of the PSL season.
With only 7 games left in the PSL season and Chippa United sitting at 11tth spot on the Premier Soccer League table, the new coaches only aim will be to keep his team out of relegation which lies dangerously 5 points behind them.

Rulani takes over from Norman Mapeza who reigned from Chippa United this Monday just 2 days after his side had won their first game after a string of poor performances.

Rulani Mokwena now becomes the fourth coach that Chippa United have had this season. The former assistant coach had just returned from Europe where he was receiving training on “benchmark exercises” according to the official statement from Orlando Pirates which read:
“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that Assistant Coach Rulani Mokwena has been seconded to join Absa Premiership outfit Chippa United,”
“Mokwena, who recently returned from an overseas trip which saw him visiting some European football clubs for a benchmarking exercise; joins the Chilli Boys until the end of the season. He will be joined at United by Michael Loftman,”

Michael Loftman is the second member from the Orlando Pirates technical team that will be joining Chippa United in this transfer.

Mokwena was previously the interim coach for Orlando Pirates before being replaced by German Josef Zinnbauer on 10 December 2019 after a string of poor results by the Buccaneers under Mokwena.
