Unable to pay this fine the former Barcelona and PSG footballer and his brother had their passports taken away by Brazil’s Superior Court of Justice to ensure they do not leave the country.

Ironically though, Ronaldinho found him self made Brazil’s tourism ambassador in 2019 without being able to leave the country and promote the country.
Authorities discovered the fake passports after raiding the hotel where he was staying with his brother. The pair were detained at the Resort Yacht & Golf Club Paraguayo.

Authorities state that the former AC Milan star along with his brother had been invited by Nelson Belotti, the owner of a casino in Paraguay, so he could take part in some publicity events with fans.

With media invited to these events, one wonders how the former Brazilian footballer expected to get away with this seeing as it was public knowledge that his passport had been taken by the Brazilian authorities.

His case is scheduled to be heard on Thursday while Paraguay authorities also look into how the Brazilian was able to enter the country with the fake documentation in the first place.
