La Liga front runners, Barcelona, are trying to hold onto goalkeeper Ter Stegen as rumours of a move to Chelsea linger but may not be able to afford him.
Ter Stegen is demanding a $17 million a year salary which would put him as one of the top earners in the club behind the likes of Lionel Messi. Although Barca haven’t denied how valuable the goalkeeper is to the club, they just can not afford his salary along with those they are currently forking out.
As a result, Barcelona have chosen to scrap the negotiation talks until the Summer in the hopes they can figure out a way forward.
