Liverpool FC Teams Steps Up To Help Local Community

Normally food was given and eaten at the church hall, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the British lockdown, volunteers have resulted to giving takeaways in the stadium.

With the coronavirus outbreak, Liverpool, the Premier League leaders with collaboration with the local Christ Church in Anfield, are assisting with feeding the needy and elderly people in the community.

“Scouse in the house” is a Thursday church service where a volunteer group from the Christ Church in Anfield nearby the club’s Kop stand where this group runs a food bank and cooks meals to give to the poor and needy on Thursdays.

Scouse’ – a lamb or beef stew commonly eaten by deckhands throughout northern Europe and popular in ports like Liverpool.

This time around the European champions are helping with the ingredients for the two-course meals that are going to be given away.
