UEFA, the European football governing body is busy with a proposal that is said to move the Champions League finals to 29 August in Istanbul.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, football like other sports has been suspended and everything is currently on standstill. The European League was suspended due to lockdown procedures being implemented across the whole of Europe.

This resulted in the UEFA Champions League being interrupted while on its round of 16 playoffs.
A report from BBC said that UEFA wants the European League final to be held in Gdansk Poland on August 26 with the Champions League final played only three days later.
UEFA is considering two options which will be discussed at the UEFA’s Executive Committee meeting next Thursday, the report added.
The first one is to hold the Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals across two legs in July and August which will only be possible if the domestic leagues are restarted in June.

The second option is to play the remaining Champions League ties as once-off fixtures after the end of the domestic seasons and could see the remainder of the competition played out over the course of a week.
Many club managers of warned of the dangers of playing games in such a short period of time as it may result in a high number of injuries as was experienced in England during the December holidays when the FA Cup schedule and Premier League schedules resulted in a massive spike in injuries for English clubs.
The original final of the Champions League was scheduled for 30 May, with the European League final due to be held three days earlier in Gdansk.
