With help from his former teammates, Brazilian midfielder Paulo Roberto Falcao has raised more than 4.5 million Reais ($859 270) with a video recorded asking people to donate to help fight the coronavirus spread in the favelas.

Now their rivals from Italy (players that beat them in the World Cup in 1982) have created their own video.

Falcao asked his close friend and former teammate Bruno Conti to get Italian player to each record a message and Paolo Rossi, Claudio Gentile and Giuseppe Bergomi were among the people who responded to the call for help.

“Italy and Brazil: rivals on the field but united against the coronavirus,” said defender Franco Causio.

After the World Cup players like Zico, Socrates and Junior are among those who went to play in the Italian clubs and have remained close friends with the Italians.

With Junior’s farewell match in 1990, all the players of both sides came together in Pescara to replay the famous game.
