Deontay Wilder, the dethroned world heavyweight champion says he still doesn’t see Tyson Fury as the true championship titleholder.

Wilder told a Premier Boxing Champions podcast on Wednesday that the real ‘Bronze Bomber’ didn’t show up for his last heavyweight fight against Tyson Fury, and compared his performance to that of a ‘zombie’ which is why he was dethroned.

“It’s not over. In my eyes I don’t see Fury as the Champion,” said the 34-year-old, enjoying some interlude in Alabama.

“People that know boxing know that that wasn’t Deontay Wilder that night. I was a zombie that night… I wasn’t myself, I felt like a zombie in there,” he added.

Fury dazed Wilder in their Las Vegas rematch in February, snatching the WBC crown with a couple round stoppage. They found previously in December 2018 to a draw.

“My leg was weakened by 45-pound costume of full dark armour and helmet that I wore to the ring to honour Black History Month” Wilder claimed afterwards.

“He knows that wasn’t me. I know that wasn’t me. Everyone knows that wasn’t the real Deontay Wilder, something was wrong,” said the American.
