UEFA competition places were awarded based on league table standings. Club Brugge qualifies for the 2020/21 Champions League. While KAA Gent will enter the Champions League’s third qualifying round.
Third-placed Sporting Charleroi will enter the Europa League group stages. Royal Antwerp and Standard Liege have qualified for the competition’s third and second qualifying round respectively.
Although this is tentative, the outcome of the Belgium Cup may have an impact. Currently, the Belgian Cup between Club Brugge and Royal Antwerp still needs to be played before August 31. If Antwerp is victorious, they will automatically qualify for the Europa League ahead of Sporting Charleroi.
In contrast, Waasland-Beveren will be relegated to the Proximus League. The team to come up from the Proximus League will be decided in a promotion playoff match between Beerschot VA and OH Leuven.
The first round of the playoff was played on March 8, with Beerschot VA leading 1-0. Nevertheless, the second leg has not yet been scheduled.
