Teboho Mohoje Signs Contract Extension At Toyota Cheetahs

“It is a privilege and honour for me to stay at the Cheetahs and I can’t wait to play my first game. As they say, home is where the heart is.”

The Toyota Cheetahs have decided to renew Springbok loose forward Teboho “Oupa” Mohoje’s contract until the end of May 2021.

Teboho Mohoje, who last was on the field in 2018 and had a horrific run of injuries, has been steadily returning to fitness and it is hoped he will form a crucial part of the Cheetahs future plans.

Named captain in 2018 for the Pro14 2018/19 season, his time on the field lasted just 18 minutes before he limped off against Munster with a serious knee injury that curtailed his career going forward. Mohoje hasn’t taken the field since.

A strong ball-carrier with leadership capabilities, Mohoje captained the SA A side against the England Saxons in 2016 and has played 19 tests for the Springboks.

Mohoje made 78 appearances for the Toyota Cheetahs since he joined the team in 2013. He wore the orange jersey in 39 Super Rugby- and 23 Currie Cup games and he has 16 Guinness PRO14 caps.

Teboho Mohoje said he can’t wait to get onto the field again.
