SuperSport United confirmed two players who tested positive for Covid-19 have returned, but a third remains in isolation ahead of the restart of the league.
Matsatsantsa revealed they had four positive tests, with a staff member also placed in quarantine along with the three unnamed players.
“Two players and the staff member were put into quarantine for 14 days after testing positive while the necessary contract tracing had taken place. The trio went for retesting and tested negative,” SuperSport said in a statement.
“The duo have returned to full training and have joined the rest of the Matsatsantsa squad in preparation for the completion of the season.”
“The third player is currently in isolation for 14 days and is in high spirits and feeling well.”
We are continuing with all protocols and awaiting news from the Premier Soccer League for the resumption of the 2019/20 season.”
SuperSport United are the latest club to confirm positive tests after Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Bloemfontein Celtic, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Stellenbosch FC, while the likes of Cape Town City have revealed they had no Covid-19 cases after their first round of tests were completed.
