Brodie Lee made his name in the independent wrestling scene, wrestling for promotions like Dragon Gate and Combat Zone Wrestling, but made his first major debut working for WWE as Luke Harper, finding success in the Wyatt Family stable and in the Bludgeon Brothers tag team. After his release, he was signed by AEW and quickly became one of their top stars, becoming a major fixture of their weekly television show AEW Dynamite and heading the popular villainous stable, the Dark Order. However, he had been kept off the show for weeks.
Following the announcement of Huber’s death, several of his colleagues from both AEW, WWE and more took to social media to mourn his loss.
“I’m devastated by the loss of Jon Huber, known to fans as Mr. Brodie Lee, formerly Luke Harper,” AEW CEO Tony Khan said over Twitter. Jon was a great man. His family came first, his loving wife Amanda & their sons Brodie + Nolan. He loved wrestling & was great at it, he loved you fans. Please keep him in your hearts.
