Both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez have been named to Liverpool ‘s pre-season training camp in Austria. Both centre-backs have been out for extended periods of time due to serious knee injuries.
Van Dijk, 30, was injured in a 2-2 draw with Everton on October 17, while Gomez, 24, was injured while on international duty with England in November.
Ibrahima Konate, a new £35 million signing, has also been included.
Jurgen Klopp has named a 34-man squad for the training camp, with Van Dijk and Gomez expected to participate in group sessions.
Liverpool is the only club that does not have any pre-season games listed on the Premier League website.
Following the trouble at Old Trafford that forced the pair’s Premier League game to be called off in May, a planned double-header with Manchester United was canceled.
The Reds could play at least one game at Anfield, in addition to a few other games elsewhere.
