Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 44 points and 20 rebounds, the first 40-point, 20-rebound game since Shaquille O'Neal in 2001.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 110-96 to advance to the NBA Western Conference play-off final.

The home team won the series 4-2 thanks to Klay Thompson’s 30-point performance and Stephen Curry’s 29-point performance. They will play either the Phoenix Suns or the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.

In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 108-95 to tie the series at 3-3 and force a Game 7 on Sunday.

The Warriors were thrashed in Memphis in game five, but game six was a much tighter affair, with each side trading the lead three times in the final quarter before the Warriors pulled ahead.

It is their sixth Western Conference final appearance in the last eight years.

“This obviously stings,” Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said. “Such a special season with a special group, and I want them to cherish that, remember that, despite this loss.”

The defending NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks, had a chance to advance as well, leading the series 3-2.

Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed 44 points and 20 rebounds, the first 40-point, 20-rebound game since Shaquille O’Neal in 2001.

However, Jayson Tatum of the Celtics outscored Antetokounmpo with 46 points to help the visitors keep their semi-final series alive.
