Kylian Mbappe To Turn Down Real Madrid Move And Stay At PSG

"I hope Kylian is still here for many years to come but I also can't lie. I don't know what is going to happen."

Kylian Mbappe has agreed to drop his proposed move to Real Madrid and stay at Paris St-Germain.

The 23-year-old World Cup winner has committed his future to the French champions after being heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. Mbappe will sign a three-year contract extension with PSG.

The agreement has yet to be signed, but PSG are expected to make an announcement around their season finale against Metz on Saturday evening.

PSG were prepared to offer him a 150 million euro signing-on fee to keep him for another two seasons, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, who wrote last month.

Mbappe agreed to a financial package with Real Madrid months ago, but has decided not to join Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

In August 2017, he joined PSG on a season-long loan from Monaco, and he has since helped them win four Ligue 1 titles in five seasons.

The Qatari-owned club were desperate to keep him and were willing to offer him a net annual salary of ÂŁ21 million.

Mbappe scored in each leg of this season’s Champions League last 16 against Real Madrid, but it wasn’t enough to keep PSG from being eliminated 3-2 on aggregate.

He led Ligue 1 in scoring with 25 goals and 17 assists in 34 games as PSG won the league title with four games to spare.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino said on Friday that he had no idea where Kylian Mbappe would play next season.
