Ruben Neves goal scorer for Wolves informed his teammates about the pre-match social media blitz that backfired on Nottingham Forest at Molineux.
Forest’s official Twitter account posted a mock-up picture of striker Emmanuel Dennis sat on the pitch at the City Ground with three wolf cubs calmly sat with him with the caption ‘Playtime’ in the run-up to their 1-0 defeat.

The post was later removed, but not before Neves forwarded it to the Wolves squad.
Neves went on to score the game-winning penalty, lifting Wolves out of the relegation zone and leaving Forest at the bottom of the Premier League.
Then, Wolves uploaded the message “Playtime’s over,” along with an image of an axe stuck in a tree trunk.
Wolves were aware of the deleted post as interim manager Steve Davis said that: “We were going to use it in the talk but Ruben said he put it on the players’ chat so I didn’t need to say any more.

“Those sort of things used to happen on the pitch. That doesn’t happen so much now, but it gave us an edge.”
Wolves also owed a debt of gratitude to goalkeeper Jose Sa for saving them in a contest that featured two VAR penalties.
