Deontay Wilder Back In Form With A First Round knock Out Win Against Robert Helenius

Wilder's victory over former sparring partner Helenius at Barclays Center improved his record to 43-2, with one draw and 42 knockouts.

The 36 year old Deontay Wilder, was fighting for the first time since his second consecutive knockout loss to Tyson Fury last October.

With seconds left in the first round, he hit Finnish opponent Helenius in the face with his famous right hand.

Wilder’s back-to-back losses to Fury were the first in his previously unblemished career, and they cost him the WBC title he had held since 2015. He seriously considered retiring in the months that followed.

Following that, he could face fellow American and former world champion Andy Ruiz Jr. or Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk, as well as Britain’s Anthony Joshua.
