Cherries Suffered Third Consecutive Loss To West Ham

In the 91st minute, Bournemouth's Jordan Zemura was adjudged to have handled the ball while sliding in to block a cross, and Said Benrahma converted from the spot to secure victory.

West Ham beat the Cherries to move up seven places to 10th position in the EPL table with Kurt Zouma’s controversial goal.

Just before halftime, Zouma glanced in a close-range header, but the Cherries were enraged because the ball appeared to hit the hands of Hammers defender Thilo Kehrer earlier in the move.

However, after a review by the video assistant referee, the goal was allowed to stand because the handball was deemed accidental and did not directly lead to a goal.

Nonetheless, Bournemouth caretaker manager Gary O’Neil was displeased with the decision and was booked after speaking with referee David Coote as the teams exited the field at half-time.

The Cherries, who have now gone three games without a win, had a difficult evening after losing striker Dominic Solanke and goalkeeper Neto to injury after only 45 minutes.

To make matters worse for the visitors, they believed they should have had a penalty when the ball struck Ben Johnson’s arm when the score was 1-0, but their appeals were denied.
