England Beat India With 10-Wicket To Reach T20 World Cup Final

England had to make two changes for the game with top-order batter Dawid Malan ruled out with a groin injury, while pace bowler Mark Wood missed out with a hip injury.

According to World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan, England’s 10-wicket victory over India to reach the T20 World Cup final was “mind-blowingly good.”

Jos Buttler’s side chased 169 with 24 balls to spare, joining Pakistan in the final in Melbourne on Sunday and extending their quest to become double world champions.

Despite crawling over the line in chases against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 12 stage, England won the toss and chose to bowl.

The victory also broke a run of 11 T20 internationals at the Adelaide Oval in which the team that won the toss lost.

England had to make two changes for the game with top-order batter Dawid Malan ruled out with a groin injury, while pace bowler Mark Wood missed out with a hip injury.

It meant first appearances of the tournament for Phil Salt, who was not needed with the bat but took an important catch in the field, and Chris Jordan, who took 3-43.

England started well and restricted India, but momentum swung when India added 68 off the last five overs, to take their total to 168-6.

Buttler and Alex Hales, who has only returned to England’s side in the last two months after a three-year exile for off-field incidents, then blazed England to a comfortable victory with a display of destructive hitting, which included 10 sixes.

If England wins the final on Sunday, they will become the first team to be crowned double world champions (in the 50-over and T20 formats), and vice-captain Moeen Ali says that is now the goal.
