Former England coach Peter Moores will take over as coach of the Melbourne Stars for the next two Big Bash League seasons, succeeding David Hussey (BBL).
Moores, 60, is currently the coach at Nottinghamshire and will be the BBL’s only overseas head coach.

He coached England from 2007 to 2015 and has twice won the Vitality Blast with Nottinghamshire.
“It’s an honor to be named Melbourne Stars head coach for the next two seasons,” Petter Moores said.
“I’m excited not only to work with some of the best players in the world, but also to help develop the rest of the squad and get this club back to where it belongs.”

“Peter Moores was the outstanding candidate from a very strong group of applicants,” said Melbourne general manager Blair Crouch.
After the 2022-23 season, Hussey was named Victoria’s head of men’s cricket.
